There are many rich and vibrant colours in this Caucasian Runner from across the spectrum, and this playful mix of palettes adds to the piece's warmth. 


    The Shirvan district is to the South of the Caucasus mountains and is now part of modern-day Azerbaijan. Caucasian Shirvan rugs and runners are not common, and Caucasian Shirvan Runners are rarer still. Shirvan rugs and runners can be some of the finest and most skillfully woven pieces from this area, and this quality is only found in Antique examples. This runner is still in excellent condition, with its woollen pile and expert craftmanship ensuring its longevity.
