This vintage Persian Luri rug is a strong example of tribal weaving from western Iran. Hand-knotted by Luri weavers, it features a dense wool pile and a richly layered palette of terracotta, madder red and deep indigo, softened by natural abrash (subtle colour variation) across the field.

The design is arranged in vertical rows of elongated, hexagonal medallions, each containing small hooked forms and floral devices that are typical of Luri village work. These motifs are framed by a sequence of borders: an ivory guard stripe with compact geometric symbols, enclosed by deeper rust and indigo bands that anchor the composition.

Woven using traditional techniques passed down through Luri families, this rug offers both authenticity and warmth. Its balanced, repeating pattern makes it easy to place in a living room, dining space or study, where it will add colour, pattern and a clear sense of Persian tribal origin without overwhelming the room.
