A Vintage Turkman Rug hand knotted by the nomadic Turkmen tribespeople. The rug features a rich brown ground colour with the gül, or elephant's foot, medallions and geometric lozenges delineated by strong yellow, cream and dark blue tones.
Turkman Rugs or Turkoman Rugs are finely woven tribal pieces and are woven almost always from hand-spun wool. This rug was knotted by skilled weavers using excellent quality, lustrous wool. The rug is therefore wonderfully soft and still very hard-wearing.
