Fine Vintage Persian Kashan Rug
A fine and unusual Persian Kashan rug with excellent light furnishing colours and a “Botteh” design. This is a very old Persian pattern which was successfully copied by wool and silk mills in Paisley, Scotland and so versions of the design came to be known as “Paisley”. This example is known as a “5 colour Kashan” and is an unusual piece as rugs from this area are predominantly made with red and blue colours and a central medallion. This rug dates back from the 1930’s, is in excellent condition and a grand feature for function rooms, dining rooms and drawing rooms.
