A beautiful little Antique Persian Qashqai Rug hand knotted in fine wool circa 1890. The rug features a typical central pole medallion made up of 3 hexagonal shapes. The medallions, ground and delicate borders are woven with geometric plant, flower and animal motifs with deep brown, blue and green tones.
Persian Qashqai Rugs are still woven today in Southern Iran by the Qashqai people, who are experts in weaving tribal rugs and with techniques dating back centuries. This rug was woven with excellent quality fine wool and, as such, is extremely durable and soft underfoot.
With a compact and well-balanced geometric design and deep colours, this little Antique Persian Qashqai Rug is an intriguing addition to small spaces in studies, living rooms and bedrooms.
