A rare, fine Antique Persian Kashan Rug hand knotted with a beautiful repeating design. The rug features a botteh (Paisley) pattern throughout the centre and borders of the rug. Blue and gold colours are used within each botteh motif against a soft cream background to create an intricate and elegant piece.

Made in North West Iran in and around the city of Kashan, this rug has a very unusual all-over design made up of over 100 botteh patterns. Kashan Rugs were and are made with designs that do not feature a central medallion, but this rug is a very rare find. Woven from wonderfully soft and fine wool by master weavers, this rug is extremely durable with very minor signs of wear. Both fringes however have areas of wear.
