This Antique Persian Qashqai rug, dating to circa 1910, is a fine example of tribal weaving from the nomadic Qashqai people of southern Iran. Handwoven in wool, it reflects the spontaneity and individuality characteristic of this tradition.

The ivory field is filled with a structured lattice of stylised tree and floral motifs, set against a rich palette of madder red, deep indigo, and warm ochre. These repeating elements are typical of Qashqai design, often symbolising nature and continuity. Angular spandrels and multiple geometric borders frame the composition, adding balance and definition.

The wool pile is soft yet durable, with a natural sheen that enhances the clarity of the design. Its scale and repeating pattern make it well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors, bringing texture and visual rhythm without overwhelming a space.

Showing light age-related wear consistent with its age, the rug retains its authenticity and remains both decorative and practical.
