An Antique South Persian Afshar rug in an unusual Kelleh size. This rug was hand knotted in the Fars province of Southern Iran and features deep blue central medallions and borders. A deep terracotta red has been used for the ground colour of the main rug, which showcases the geometric pattern that represents trees and flowers. This Afshar rug is dyed with all-natural colours and was woven in the late 19th Century by master weavers.
This tribal Afshar rug's depth of colour and refined design makes it a versatile piece for home interiors. The rug would take pride of place as a centrepiece in modern, minimalist settings or as a complementary feature for more classic decors in living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms.
