An Antique Persian Feraghan Rug with a Herati design, woven circa 1880. It has a rich colour palette of predominant oranges, dark blues and light blues that have been coloured using natural dyes.
This Persian Feraghan Rug is a classic example of Feraghan Rugs from the 19th century. The pattern comprises of small geometric, floral motifs throughout the rug, each hand knotted with care and attention. As there is no central medallion, it has what is often termed an 'all-over design'. Even though the rug was woven over 100 years ago, it is still very durable, and the hand knotted woollen pile is soft underfoot.
This Antique Feraghan Rug is a rich and vibrant piece, and it would sit well in a period property with classic features. It is an excellent complimentary rug for living rooms and dining rooms.
