A striking Antique Caucasian Karabagh Rug, hand knotted with a rare all-over design of flowers, vines and birds. Its vibrant red colours contrast beautifully with the dark blue background as well as the gold and cream tones of the vines. These colours are all from natural dyes, and the wool is still in excellent condition for a piece over 100 years old.
The design stems from the 18th century and is substantially floral compared to most geometric Karabagh rugs. Apart from areas of wear on the sides of this piece, the rug is still durable and has many decades of life left in it!
This Antique Caucasian Karabagh Rug is particularly special; with an exciting colour palette, contrasting tones, and a rare and unique floral design. The rug is best suited for decorative, floral interiors such as ornate living rooms and bedrooms and could also be used as wall art for the avid collector.
