A paler Afghan Kazak Rug with an open geometric design of diamond and floret patterns. Unlike many Afghan Kazak Rugs, this piece is softer in colour and has a cream ground with pale blues and soft red tones used within the woven motifs. The design takes inspiration from antique Caucasian rugs, the main difference with this modern piece being the broader spacing between each design feature.
There are large quantities of embellished diamond medallions in the centre of the rug with smaller florets spaced equally between them. More diamond and additional lozenge motifs are woven within the borders along with tiny flowers. This Afghan Kazak has defined clean lines from its geometric characteristics. The more muted red and blue colour palette set against the cream ground allows the rug to stand out without dominating a space.
This piece is hand knotted from durable and lustrous Afghan wool, with a natural sheen to its pile. The more muted tones within this Afghan Kazak make it a well-placed feature for lighter, traditional settings as well as minimalist contemporary ones. It is a classic tribal rug for areas such as bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms.
