This antique Persian Bakhtiar rug, dating to circa 1900, originates from the Zagros mountain region of western Iran, where the Bakhtiari tribes have long been known for producing some of the most durable and visually distinctive carpets in Persian weaving. These rugs were traditionally woven for everyday use within tribal households, resulting in pieces that combine robust construction with highly individual, expressive designs.
